The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi will be hosting, for the first time in the Middle East, the Abu Dhabi Statistics Conference, 12-13 May, 2013, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The conference will gather together over 300 senior decision-makers, policy makers and researchers and provide a unique opportunity for key stakeholders from across the statistical community to develop and drive forward a strong, effective and vibrant statistical service within the UAE, Gulf and Middle East Countries.

The theme for the conference is “Contributing to Development - Improving Quality of Administrative Data”. The conference programme and international speaker faculty will highlight how statistics are critical to bring up to date the decisions which shape our future. A thought provoking and cutting edge programme will be delivered by key experts in official statistics who have been invited to provide their perspectives on the role of statistics in building departments, ministries, cities and nations through informed decision making.
